These terms govern your use of the CFU Calculator website. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
The service
CFU Calculator provides browser-based calculators and written guides for microbiology calculations: CFU enumeration, OD600 cell density estimation, and serial dilution planning. The tools perform arithmetic on the values you enter and display the formulas behind each result. The guides explain calculation methods in general terms.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Accuracy of the arithmetic does not imply accuracy of your result: every output depends entirely on the inputs and methods you supply, and on assumptions documented on the calculation methods page. Availability, continuity, and freedom from error are not guaranteed.
Not professional or laboratory advice
The calculators and guides are informational aids, not professional advice, validated methods, or accredited procedures. They do not replace your laboratory's standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, or professional judgement. Results intended for regulatory submissions, clinical decisions, or published work must be verified against the applicable validated method before use.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy and suitability of the values you enter, for choosing the correct formula and units for your situation, and for interpreting results in the context of the method that produced the underlying data. Verify calculations independently where the consequence of an error is significant.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully and do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to it or its hosting infrastructure. Automated scraping that impairs availability for others is prohibited. The calculators and page content may be used freely for personal, educational, and commercial laboratory work; republishing the site's content wholesale is not permitted without attribution and permission.

The site links to external resources for reference. Those sites are not under this site's control, and their content, availability, and privacy practices are their own responsibility. A link does not imply endorsement.
